Thanks to the hard work of Nathan Millward and the cooperation of the event organisers, this year’s MCN Motorcycle Show at London’s Excel Arena featured an oasis of overland travel inspiration in the form of a dedicated Adventure Zone.

The Adventure Stage acted as the hub of the Zone with an exhibition of iconic bikes and interview-style talks throughout the weekend with their equally iconic riders, including Graham Field, Sam Manicom, Sjaak Lucassen, Spencer Conway, Austin Vince, Nick Sanders, and the remarkable Dylan Samarawickrama. The theme running across all the talks was how uncomplicated and achievable motorcycle adventure travel can be.

You can do any trip on any bike.

Billy Ward was the ever-charismatic host of Bike Magazine’s slow riding skills demonstrations, which offered some entertaining advice about essential bike handling and body positioning as you’ll see in the video.

As well as a host of tour operators, including Kaapstad Motorcycle Adventure Tours, H-C Travel, MotoScotland, and Adventure Peru Motorcycling, all the major bike manufacturers were in attendance along with equipment retailers like the Adventure Bike Shop and Touratech UK.

A thoroughly enjoyable show all round and if Bauer Media reprise the Adventure Zone in future years it’s one not to miss if you’re in reach of London.
